INDICATIONS
Tretosil- 20: Isotretinoin- 20 mg Tablet is a synthetic form of vitamin ‘A’ indicated to treat a severe form of acne. Tretosil- 20: Isotretinoin- 20 mg Tablet reduces sebum (skin’s natural oil) production on the skin’s surface by decreasing the activity and size of sebaceous glands. Thereby, unblocking pores and killing acne-causing bacteria. Also, Tretosil- 20: Isotretinoin- 20 mg Tablet reduces swelling in the skin.

SIDE EFFECTS
- Common side effects of Isotretinoin Tablets include dry and peeling skin, severely chapped lips, nosebleeds, dry eyes, and dry nose.
- The medication may also cause bone or joint pain, burning, redness, itching, or other signs of eye inflammation, difficulty with moving, nervousness, and increased thirst or urination.
- Isotretinoin may impair vision, especially at night. Women who are pregnant or who may become pregnant should not handle this medication or breathe the dust from the capsules.

- The medication should not be taken by anyone younger than 12 years old. Each prescription of isotretinoin must be filled within 7 days of the date it was written by the doctor.
- Patients should not take other medicines without checking first with the doctor, including vitamins, herbal products, and prescription or non-prescription medications.
- Women must use contraception for a month before taking Isotretinoin, during treatment, and for a month afterwards.
- Patients should not take vitamin A supplements or tetracyclines (a type of antibiotic), or use any skin treatments for acne while taking Isotretinoin.
- Patients should not have any cosmetic treatments, including hair removal (waxing), dermabrasion, or laser treatments while taking Isotretinoin, and for 6 months after stopping it.
- Patients should inform the doctor or pharmacist about all the medications being taken, including over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements, to avoid any potential drug interactions.
- Patients should stop taking Isotretinoin and call the doctor immediately if they experience severe side effects such as problems with vision or hearing, muscle or joint pain, bone pain, back pain, increased thirst, increased urination, unexplained bruising, frequent infections, or thoughts about harming themselves or ending their life.

Description
Isotretinoin 20mg capsule is used to treat severe types of acne (such as nodular or conglobate acne, or acne that is at risk of causing permanent scarring) in adults and children aged 12 years and older. The medication is available in the form of oral capsules and should be taken exactly as directed by the doctor. The usual adult dose for acne is a maintenance dose of 0.25 to 0.5 mg/kg orally 2 times a day, with a maximum dose of up to 2 mg/kg/day for up to 20 weeks. Patients should take some formulations of this drug with food.
